Private Yoga Sessions
For many, yoga is a group practice enjoyed at one of the many wonderful yoga studios in the area. As yogis move further into their practice they will often begin to integrate a home practice and add different styles of yoga to their life.
We offer private yoga sessions as a support to people who are broadening or even beginning their yoga practice. The one -on-one attention and opportunity to focus entirely you what your body needs is ideal. We can help you learn alternatives for a pose that is difficult, or help you master something that has been a challenge.
What is often most helpful is coming to learn what is best for your body. As an example, the common understanding of yoga is that it should make you into someone who can be like a pretzel and get into all sorts of poses. That is not actually accurate, because bodies are different. For one yogi, it will be important to learn to lengthen and stretch. However for another, with more mobile joints, overstretching is not helping their body, it is setting them up for injury, so it is more important for them to build strength and stability.
How do you find this out? Your yoga instructor may have made some suggestions, which is a start. Another great way is to work in a private session or a few sessions to learn more about your body and figure out what works best for you.
At Alchemy private yoga sessions are offered for one or one and a half hours. Rates, availability, and other details can be found in the scheduling link above.

"Not only does working with fascia help us physiologically release tension and create more space in our bodies, fascial work inherently helps us dip into our parasympathetic nervous system, the rest and digest response."
