Jaclyn Melsopp, LMT, RYT-200
Jackie is a New York native, former rugby player and yogi. She became a Yoga Teacher in 2010 and a Maryland Licensed Massage Therapist in 2013. Initially she became interested in yoga while studying at Towson University. Jackie found yoga to be a real help during a bout of depression and continued on to teacher training as it became clear that yoga was a lasting part of her life.
Jackie began her career in massage therapy with only a gut feeling and it’s been decision she’s never doubted. She specializes in Myofascial Release and deep tissue massage. She enjoys working with all the different bodies that have found their way to the table with her.
Jackie’s ultimate goal is to assist her clients to feel empowered, hopeful and in love with the body they are living in. she works to with clients to bring awareness and connection to their bodies, rather than walking around unaware and going through the motions. With this awareness clients often experience change, a deeper acceptance and presence.
In Annapolis, you can find Jackie teaching yoga at Prana Studios, she has studied power yoga, hatha, vinyasa, pranayama, meditation and yin. Her goal in her teaching is to connect with people and help them heal themselves. Jackie says, “yoga is an opportunity to learn who you are. Not who you think you are, but who you are without the story. It connects you to you. To the Divine light inside you. To the present moment.”

Jackie's Modalities
YIN YOGA
Embracing more passive poses and the opportunity to deeply relax into those postures, Yin Yoga is a far more meditative approach to yoga. Through longer holds, Yin Yoga applies a gentle stress to the tissues. This gentle stress helps increase elasticity, circulation and strength of the tissues. At Alchemy, Yin Yoga is practiced one on one in a private session, with Jackie. She will also integrate Myofascial Massage techniques as appropriate, thus enhancing the depth of the session.
Yin Yoga allows the time and space to simply be in a posture and deeply within your skin. Encompassing postures that span joints such as the hips, knees, sacrum, and spine, Yin Yoga accesses these areas in a slow, supported way that gently brings opening and change. The work is primarily offered on the floor on a mat, with bolsters and blankets for comfort and positioning. Meditation and breath work are incorporated as well. ![]() A massage session can include deep tissue, Swedish, myofascial release, and trigger point techniques, depending on the client's focus for the day. Whether the goal is relaxation, working on sore muscles, reducing stress or simply feeling better, a massage session with Jackie will certainly bring you back to balance.

A deeply relaxing massage technique that brings warmth and deep restoration to the body. It combines Swedish massage with the hot stones, which are used as tools by the therapist. The stones are then rested on the body to allow the heat to further warm the body. The heat and the stones combine to work out muscle soreness and tension. Overall the experience is warming and nurturing, as you feel the heat sink into your muscles, bringing relaxation and peace.

MYOFASCIAL RELEASE
![]() When we experience pain, tightness, or a limited range of motion, releasing the fascia of the body can often bring significant and lasting benefits. Myofascial Release is a hands-on therapy that targets both the muscles (myo) and the fascia. It uses a variety of techniques to promote pain relief, freedom of movement, postural balance and deep relaxation as restrictions are released
Myofascial Release will generally be the focus within the complete massage session, that may include other Therapeutic Massage techniques. When clients are experiencing more complex challenges, their progress during sessions isn't holding, multiple compensation patterns are apparent, or the client wants to speed up treatment are good opportunities for multi-hands sessions with two or more therapists.
With a foundation in CranioSacral Therapy, the multi-hands work brings a broader attention, increased energy, more security, and a great deal of experience to the client. Multi-hands work is effective for three main reasons. The first is structurally more therapists are going to be able to hold the entire compensation pattern. Second, more people mean more energy and often this correlates with added security, and less resistance which creates more efficient sessions. Finally, multiple therapists equal more skills and tools to best resource the client’s inner wisdom. Generally, the client's primary therapist at Alchemy will make the recommendation and suggest the additional therapist(s).
